Deerfield Post Office

As I entered the customer service counter, the door chimed announcing my entrance. No one at the counter. I wait for about a minute--no one. Since there is no bell on the counter I call out, "Hello?". Nothing. I wait another 30 seconds and call again louder. Still nothing. Several minutes later and several more " Hello!?", a woman shows up and immediately asks if I'm paying with cash or check because the internet is down. A greeting would have been nice, but I tell her I will pay cash. She weighs my package and gives me the price. I tell her that seems higher than the price their website quoted. She asked me the weight I used, and it agreed with her weight. She shrugged and told me it was probably an extra charge for her to print the label. Oddly enough, the last time I was here over six months ago, I was sent away with my unmailed package because...the internet was down. UPS will be handling my rare package delivery from now on.
