In the 6 months that I have lived in my new house, there have been 50 instances whereby the post office has not delivered my Amazon orders. I live less than a half mile from the gate of my gated community. FedEx and UPS deliver inside the community. I have called Amazon personally 4 times to BEG them to use the other carriers. The refusal of the taxpayer-supported postal "service" to deliver in gated communities is anachronistic in the 21st century. Our neighborhood has only 3 miles of roads. While most of the employees at the Valdese post office are friendly and helpful, (One man never seems to smile), it is a major problem having to drive to the post office to pick up my packages. Many, many times there is not a slip of paper to notify me that a package is being held at the post office.
